Rodney Hummer, Vice President of Strategy

 

Rodney graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. He joined the Missouri Air National Guard as a combat medic.  Rodney served in the Gulf war, then ultimately promoted to the Officer rank of Captain.  Entering into the civilian sector Rodney worked as a nurse at the local hospital and obtained his Nursing Home Administrators License.  After managing homes for a long-term care company, he was promoted to Director of Operations for the Corporation.  Rodney has a long history with Community Health Centers; as a patient, serving as a Board Member, Clinic Manager, Director of Development and most recently as Interim CEO.  He cites his passion for FQHCs is,  "the ability to serve the underserved, and to giving hope to those who have no hope."  Receiving the "Hometown Hero Award", being appointed to the Governor's Task Force on Substance Abuse and Treatment, and being awarded the "Citizenship Award" are a testament to his unwavering commitment to helping others.  Rodney and his wife Lisa live on a farm in Andrew County. They just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.  They have 4 children, a new son-in-law, 3 dogs and 4 cows.  His hobbies are spending time with family in the outdoors, volunteering, working on the farm and reading.
