The Missouri Primary Care Association (MPCA) is a non-profit membership association composed of providers of comprehensive primary health care services. The Association’s mission is to be Missouri's leader in shaping policies and programs that improve access to high-quality, community-based, and affordable primary health services.
The Association accomplishes this mission through networking and information sharing, legislative advocacy, and by providing technical assistance, training and education on behalf of federally supported community, migrant and homeless health centers, federally qualified health center “look-alikes” and other community based providers of primary care services.
How Does the MPCA Improve Access to Primary Care?
MPCA is a multi-service membership association focusing on improving access to primary health care services for Missouri residents. This is accomplished in many ways including:
- advocating
for expansion and improvement of primary health care systems development
in Missouri. MPCA works with the Legislative and Executive branches
of government and organizations whose interests are similar to ensure
the provision of quality health care services for Missouri's underserved,
underinsured and uninsured;
- assisting
with the recruitment and retention of health care professionals for
Missouri's medically underserved communities;
- offering
education seminars for members to provide an opportunity for directors,
clinicians, community board members and staff to share experiences and
exchange ideas and to learn about emerging issues in health care such
as finance and delivery;
- providing
technical assistance and training to keep members abreast of changes
and trends in the health care marketplace and to assist them with infrastructure
building, community networking, clinical practice and capacity building.
